Protein and Hair Loss
Hair is an outgrowth of Protein (keratin) and a lack of hair or increased hair loss may be caused by a lack of protein in a person's diet. This should be easy enough to overcome as there is no shortage of protein rich foods available. If you don't eat meat you are still able to avail yourself of this vital substance in the form of chick peas, tofu, lentils, soya milk, muesli, eggs, peanuts, and some hard cheeses. Your diet should ideally include a multitude of vitamins and minerals from different sources as well. A person that lacks enough protein in their diet will likely lose their hair as one of the first signs that something is wrong. Your body will divert protein from its role in hair growth to feeding your muscles before they starve.
